Wednesday Night @ Submerged

WHAT WE LEARNED

Jesus went to Samaria to see a woman that others looked down on. Jesus saw her worth and knew she was made in God’s image and loved by him. He offered her the “living water” of the Holy Spirit, and when he rescued her, she rushed to tell others about him.

TALK ABOUT IT

Here are the questions we talked about in snack time. Ask your child(ren) the questions and get a conversation going at home!

  1. Why did the woman in the story go to the well at the hottest time of the day?

Answer: She was ashamed and/or knew that others looked down on her because of her sin.

  2. When Jesus talked about giving her living water like a well inside her, who was He talking about?

    Answer: The Holy Spirit.

  3. When the woman realized that Jesus was the Messiah, the Rescue Man, she stopped hiding from everyone and ran to tell them about Jesus.  What made the difference?

Answer: She knew that what she was worth to God mattered more than what other people thought of her. Can it be hard for YOU to remember that? Are there times that it is hard to remember that you are worth so much to God that He sent Jesus to die for you?

  4. Once we grab on to Jesus to rescue us, He sends someone to live in us that gives us courage to tell others the good news about Him.  Who is that?

    Answer: The Holy Spirit.

When Jesus rescues us, he gives us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit reminds us that only Jesus can satisfy us and helps us share the good news about Jesus and love others through him.
