WHAT WE LEARNED
Jesus saw past what everyone else saw when they looked at Zacchaeus. Jesus knew Zacchaeus was a sinner, but He also knew that he was loved by God. He came after Zacchaeus, rescued him, and completely changed him.

TALK ABOUT IT
Here are the questions we talked about in snack time. Ask your child(ren) the questions and get a conversation going at home!
Have you ever been somewhere where there was a big crowd of tall people that made it hard to see what was going on?
Answer: For example, Popcorn Fest, a parade, walking through the fair, sitting in the back seat of the care or the back row at church or a school program, etc.
What was different about how Jesus saw Zacchaeus than the way everyone else saw him? Answer: Most people just saw that he was a sinner; Jesus saw that he was also loved by God.
Are there times that you feel people don’t see below the surface (the real you)? The good thing is that God DOES see you, even the messy and sinful parts, BUT he still loves you and wants to rescue you.
Miss Rebekah talked about 2 kinds of news – Bad News and Good News.
What was the bad news?
Answer: We are all sinners
The good news was REALLY good. What is the good news?
Answer: That Jesus died to rescue us when we confess and believe.
Just like Zacchaeus, we all have a problem. We are sinners and need to be forgiven. BUT just like Zacchaeus, God sees us, loves us, comes after us, and invites us to be loved and forgiven when we confess/believe/and grab on to Jesus to rescue us.
