All through the Bible, God encourages his people to be generous with the resources he has given. Generosity is part of the Christian life, and faithful givers find that God lives up to his promise to abundantly bless them (Proverbs 3:9-10, Malachi 3:10-12).  

Giving is stewardship—an opportunity to give back to God what already belongs to him (Psalm 24:1, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7).
