Community, Care, and Connection
while preparing for and enjoying retirement
What is Legacy?
Legacy is an age-stage ministry designed to walk alongside those approaching or in the retirement season of life—meeting the unique needs and opportunities of this stage while fully integrating into Calvary’s Connect–Grow–Serve–Send ministry strategy. Retirement can be a significant transition marked by changes in identity, relationships, health, and purpose.
Legacy exists to offer community, care, and meaningful pathways for connection and service—recognizing that this generation brings deep life experience, spiritual maturity, and invaluable wisdom. With time, capacity, and a heart to invest in others, Legacy empowers participants to continue living with purpose and to make a lasting impact within the church and beyond.
Why Legacy?
Legacy exists because Scripture calls each generation to invest intentionally in the next.
Psalm 78 reminds us that the wisdom, faith, and stories of God’s faithfulness are not meant to be hidden, but passed down—declaring His praiseworthy acts to future generations.
Titus 2 reinforces this call, encouraging those with life and spiritual maturity to walk alongside others, sharing godly wisdom shaped by experience.
And in 1 Corinthians 12, we are reminded that the body of Christ is made up of many parts, each essential, called to serve one another and build up the whole.
Legacy creates space for this biblical imperative to come to life—to honor the role of older believers, foster meaningful relationships, and strengthen the church through shared faith, service, and spiritual legacy.
How do I join Legacy?
Legacy meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month and is built around a time of worship followed by a large-group teaching and small-group discussion. Trained table leaders help facilitate meaningful conversation and connection, making it easy to jump in whether you’re new or have been part of Calvary for years. No prior commitment or experience is required—just come ready to connect, grow, and be encouraged alongside others in the same season of life.
