WHAT WE LEARNED TODAY

In Acts 12, there is a story of Peter’s miraculous escape from prison. The battle against sin and Satan is real, but God is on our side. He has won the victory!

Here are the questions we talked about in snack time. Ask your child(ren) the questions and get a conversation going at home!

1. True or False: King Herod was delighted with the disciples sharing the good news of Jesus.
Answer: False - He was imprisoning and killing those who followed Jesus. 

2. True or False: Peter had been thrown into jail because he followed Jesus.
Answer: True 

3. True or False: The other followers of Jesus gave up and ran away to hide when they heard Peter had been put in jail.
Answer: False -They gathered together to pray. 

4. How do you think Peter felt in jail? 
Answer: Maybe scared? Wondering why God had allowed bad things to happen? Hopeful? 

5. What did God do for Peter that was amazing?
Answer: Sent an angel to rescue Peter and open the gates. 

6. Do you think God can still do amazing things today? Do we need to be fearful of anything? 

7. Who was more powerful, God or King Herod? Answer: God!  Who do we know is the most powerful of anyone or anything? Answer: God! 

The Bible teaches that Jesus won the victory over the enemy when he died and rose again. Satan doesn’t want us to live to please Jesus. He wants to stop us from trusting God. But God is on our side, and HE has won the victory.
