Prayer Warrior | Join our Local Outreach Prayer Team and commit to praying for Local Outreach partners and specific prayer requests in your time with the Lord. The New Creations Men's Center helps men who are homeless find shelter and work. They sustain their ministry through their donation center which sells clothing, furniture and other items. Would you consider taking a few hours out of your day to help organize donations at the center? This is a great opportunity to gather your friends and family (including kids and students) and serve together!

Welcome Home Baskets
The Caring place
Put together a "Welcome Home" gift-basket for clients who are transitioning out of the Domestic Violence shelter into their new home. Suggested gift would be a new laundry basket or bucket filled with laundry supplies, cleaning supplies, and basic toiletry items. Name-brand items are requested (versus generic brands). Baskets may be dropped off at the Life Change Center to the attention of Victoria Monday-Friday 9a-4p. (Please attach a note your name for her reference.) Our Greater Good
Calvary partners with Our Greater Good and TJ Middle School by providing Lunch Buddies. Make a difference in a child's life by spending on hour a week during lunch or the school day helping with school work, playing, and encouraging. Compass International Family Center
Compass International Family Center provides language support and education, cultural training, and advocacy to immigrant, refugee, and international families adjusting to life in a foreign culture.

Volunteers are needed on a weekly basis (Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings) to assist K-12th children with their homework. The children are equipped in conversational English, but need help with academics and language. Background screening is required.
Provide Healthy Snacks
Many of the kids come hungry to Compass, and a healthy snack is always helpful for them before they get started with homework. Provide snacks just one time on a Tuesday or Thursday evening, or commit to a monthly or weekly rotation. This is a great serving opportunity for individuals and adult and student Life Groups.
Compass hosts three annual special events for their families…Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, 11.16.17, Christmas Party on Thursday, 12.14.17, and an End of the Year Celebration on Thursday, 5.17.17. Helpers are needed for these events, as well as donated items. This is a great serving opportunity for adult Life Groups.
Housing Opportunities Day Spring Women's Center
Housing Opportunities provides housing for the homeless, helps families keep their homes, and coaches sustainable life styles.

Serve homeless women as a volunteer front desk clerk on a weekly basis by answering phones, assisting clients, and organizing donations. There are opportunities in this role to interact and build rapport with clients. Hours are during the day, but flexible. This serving opportunity is best suited for adult women.
Provide lunch or dinner
Provide lunch and conversation for homeless women on a weekday or evening as a means of showing grace and love during difficulty. Attendance can vary from a handful of women, up to 40, depending on the season. This serving opportunity is best suited for adult women or women in adult Life Groups.
The Women's Center of Northwest Indiana
Community group leader
The Women's Center of NWI works with women experiencing an unexpected pregnancy, offering them the best care and accurate information about the life they are carrying. Starting in March 2018, Calvary will be hosting a Community Group of clients from the Women's Center. This group will meet twice a month to encourage and prepare the mothers for motherhood and the first year of their child's life. Volunteers will be partnered as mentors for the expectant mothers. This serving opportunity is best suited for adult women who are members of Calvary Church.

The Caring Place Domestic Violence Shelter
Host a ladies theme night
The Caring Place is a shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. A great way to serve the women in shelter is to host an evening theme night with a meal and special activity (game night, movie, crafts, etc.). This is a great serving opportunity for women in adult Life Groups.
