Music is a powerful medium for the gospel and an American rock band in Africa draws a crowd. For two weeks in February, Kurt Felsman and the band, Sevenglory, will share the gospel and encourage our partners in Africa. With support from some of our CalvaryLIVE team members, the band will play free shows on school campuses and in public spaces, lead worship in churches, and make some television and radio appearances. Every step of the way, they're doing what God gifted them to do: share the hope of Jesus in song.
The team will be part of the opening celebration for our church plant in Uganda and leading worship at the Kigali, Rwanda, church plant. We are expecting them to bring back a lot of great God-stories!
You may not recognize the names of Sevenglory's bandmates, but you probably recognize most of their faces from Sunday morning worship: Kurt Felsman, our Worship Director; Gabe Johannes, Calvary Director of Technical Arts & CalvaryLIVE drummer; and Caleb Johannes, CalvaryLIVE bass guitarist. Fourth band mate, Jeff Smith, leads worship at GracePoint, our friends across town. We love these guys and their commitment to our God and to His church.
we know God can do some amazing things through Sevenglory in Africa. We can't wait to see it.
How to partner with Sevenglory
The most important thing you can do is to pray for the team as they travel.
You can also partner with a gift to support the trip. Sending a fully-equipped band overseas is a costly endeavor. It will be worth it though. For the people in Africa and for all of us.
