Garry Bradley has thirty-seven years of experience in the banking industry.  Earlier this year Garry took an early retirement from the Presidency of Bank Calumet and currently stays busy as a sought-after financial consultant.  Garry has been married to Linda for thirty-six years. He has four children and three grandchildren.  During his twenty-five years here at Calvary, he has served in numerous leadership capacities including chairman of the board.  He enjoys running, coin collecting – as well as beating John Sloan on the tennis court.  

Lindel Brothers, Elder of Restoration

Lindel is the former Executive Director of the Women’s Center of Northwest Indiana--a position he held for eighteen years. Lindel holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Oakland City University and a Master’s in Social Work from Indiana University.   Lindel has been a member of Calvary for thirty-two years and has served in various leadership capacities including chairman of the board.  He has been married to Sharon for thirty-seven years.  He has two children and four grandchildren.  Lindel enjoys reading, listening to music and watching I.U. beat Purdue in anything.

Brian Gensel, Elder of Membership

Brian has served as a Prosecuting Attorney for eighteen years, and was recently elected as the Porter County Prosecutor.  Brian also serves as a professor at Valparaiso School of Law.  He holds degrees from Purdue University and Valparaiso School of Law.  Brian has served in numerous ministry and leadership positions at Calvary during the past ten years.  He has been married to Carleen for twenty-two years and has two children. Brian enjoys reading and golf – and one of his greatest joys in life is beating Pastor Lionel on the golf course.    

Tim Hamilton, Elder of Discipleship & Adult Ministries

Tim is currently the Midwestern Regional Manager for Inventory Solutions.  Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cedarville University.  He has been a member of Calvary Church for twenty-four years and has served in numerous leadership capacities including the chairman of our board.  He has also been married to Cindy for twenty-seven years and has two children.  One of Tim’s greatest passions is pouring his time into the young couples at Calvary Church – to help them stay in love – and remain committed to their marriages.

Dennis Hyten, Elder of Visitation

Denny served as a Special Agent with the F.B.I. for thirty-three years and retired in 2002.  He is currently a private investigator and a loss prevention consultant.  Denny holds a B.A. in Education from Purdue University and a M.A. in Liberal Studies from Valparaiso University.   Denny has a heart of compassion and is comfortable ministering to people during times of grief and illness. He has also provided assistance behind the scenes to visiting people in the hospital and ministering to people in need.  Which is exactly why Denny is the perfect person to serve as the Elder who takes on more of these responsibilities in our church.  Denny has been married to Sheryll for forty years and has two children and eight grandchildren.  He enjoys golf, travel, jogging and spending time with the family.

Brent Whitefield, Pastor of Teaching & Missions

Brent is a professor of history at Valparaiso University – and quite popular with the students. Brent holds a B.A. from Amherst College, a M.A. from Regent in Vancouver and a PhD from Cambridge University in England.  Brent has a special place in his heart for Christianity in the Far East where he has spent time providing theological education for the persecuted church. For the past four years he has given lectures on Christianity in Asia at Yale University and Edinburgh University in Scotland.  He is married to Irini and has a beautiful baby girl, Aliki.  Brent is the perfect guy to oversee our global partnerships at Calvary Church. Brent is currently serving as our interm, Pastor of Teaching & Missions.
