what we do :: jump in :: college main

3rd & 30 is a monthly gathering at someone’s house, where dinner is enjoyed together, casual games are played, and a spiritual discussion is led by a member of the college ministry team (see below).

Calvary’s Adopt-a-student program offers collegians a chance to appreciate the kindness and hospitality of one of Calvary’s families.  This typically involves an occasional meal together, relaxed time away from campus, and other perks.

Random excursions make it possible for students to jump in a church van with a bunch of other book-weary friends and head to Chicago or South Bend for a sports game, a concert, or just a dinner at some place other than Culvers (not that there’s anything wrong with butter burgers or frozen custard!).

Short-term mission trips are also open to college students.  In 2007 alone, Calvary Church sent out a record-number seven teams to places like Peru, Greece, and the Dominican Republic.  Students have gone to places like Brazil and Australia, but always come home changed.
