Children at Calvary Church are loved, encouraged, and prayed for as they are taught how to follow God’s Word. A variety of opportunities are available for
children, including Nursery, Sunday School, Junior Church, "Calvary Kids" Choir & Drama, Awana, and Vacation Bible School.

  The children’s Sunday School at Calvary offers quality programs that provide spiritual growth oppor-
tunities and resources for your children. Sunday School lays in important foundation to help preschool-
ers form an early concept of God’s love. Our qualified teachers desire that each boy and girl know
that Jesus is a very special friend who cares for them.

Children at Calvary enjoy enriching experiences as their teachers connect kids to Christ and to one
another. Teaching takes place through discussion, group activity, games, music, art, observation, and
modeling, as well as Bible study. In sharing Jesus, we strive to encourage children toward a personal
choice to follow Christ and to strengthen their Christian growth. To see what your child is learning, visit

We invite you to join us as we help children find a meaningful direction for their lives, based on the
biblical teachings of God. Your children are a priority at Calvary, just as they are to Christ. Sunday
School meets at 9:30am each Sunday morning. Preschoolers check in at the Children’s Welcome
Center before proceeding to their classrooms. Children in grades K-5 meet in classrooms on either

  Children in Junior Church have the opportunity to worship with their peers in a fun-filled, loving
environment with Bible stories, games, and songs that teach the truths of God’s Word. The children learn about the characteristics of Christian love and how to show it with others, aspects of true worship and how  it should looks in our lives from day to day, how to speak to God through prayer and how to give back to Him through songs and offerings.

Junior Church meets in room 302 (K-1st graders) and room 108 (2nd-3rd graders) most Sundays throughout the year. Children are dismissed just prior to the sermon, during the 11:00am service on Sunday mornings. For more information on Junior Church, contact our Jr. Church Director,  Robyn Walsworth.

 
  Large, cheerful, and well-equipped infant and toddler nurseries are staffed with loving caregivers
during the 9:30am and 11:00am Sunday worship services, as well as on Wednesday nights during Awana. Parents are requested to stop at the Children’s Welcome Center and complete a “Nursery Care” card each Sunday to assist the nursery workers in caring for your child.

Infants are promoted to the toddler nursery when they are walking well. Toddlers are promoted to the 2-year-old class on the Sunday following their second birthday.

  Preschool classes are available for 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds, and “4s and 5s.” Preschoolers check in at the Children’s Welcome Center before proceeding to their classrooms. At 9:30am preschoolers attend Sunday School; at 11:00am they are cared for (in the same room) during the entire 11:00am worship service.

“Wee Worship” is the singing portion of these classes in which our little ones enjoy learning songs of praise. Wee Worship sings for the congregation during the Christmas season.

Directors of the preschool classes for the 11:00am service are Jenny Wolters ( 2's), Beth Gillespie (3's), and Jami Garzella (4's & 5's).  Jami also is our “Wee Worship” director.
