Adult electives are interactive teaching communities in which the truth of Scripture is explained by gifted and passionate instructors. Electives exist in order to help equip God's people for successful living. All adults are welcome to participate in an elective. They are designed to equip brand new believers, as well as mature disciples of Christ. All those who choose an elective will be expected to attend with a heart that is eager to change and grow. Sunday ElectiveBeginning Sunday, August 31st Israel is much in the news today and has figured prominently in God's redemptive plan. There is much teaching on the subject, but what should Christians think about Israel? Does Israel, as a nation, have a place in God's future designs? This course will explore the history of Israel in the Bible and raise though-provoking questions about the future of the modern nation-state. Are the Jews still God's "chosen people" and, if so, how does this shape our theology? Join the new adult elective, beginning August 31st at 9:30a on Sundays at Calvary through December 21st. Wednesday ElectiveBeginning Wednesday, September 3rd Are you interested in Strengthening Your Marriage? This elective will be an intimate time of fellowship with other couples, as Scott & Cathy lead a discussion on the Biblically-based Wayne Mack book. Meeting consecutively with the AWANA children's ministry, the group will meet approximately 8 weeks on Wednesday evenings at Calvary. |
