becoming a member

Our next Starting Point Membership Class will be held on Sundays, October 12th, 19th, and 26th from 11:15a-12:15p.

What does it mean to "belong"? Everyone is looking for the place where they fit and can be of use. We think that while attendance is great, we want people to consider strongly the next step in what it means to belong to our Calvary Church family. Join us at the Starting Point to discover not only what values drive us but also how you might commit to joining with us through church membership.

Church membership expresses a desire...

  • To make Calvary Church your church home
  • To formally join other followers in Christ in pursuing the vision God has for Calvary Church in the community and the world
  • To learn together with others what the church is both locally and around the world
  • To covenant with others in gaining an understanding of our responsibilities and roles for the body to work properly
  • To be cared for, to belong and to be challenged by a community of people from diverse backgrounds

starting point is

  • the first step to "belonging" and moving forward as a disciple
  • an overview of the church - our beliefs and practices
  • required if you are considering becoming a member of the church
  • offered a limited amount of times per year - once every three months

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another - and all the more as you see the day approaching.

(Hebrews 10:19-25)
