Brian Gensel has spent 22 years as a prosecutor with the Porter County Prosecutor’s Office and has been the elected Porter County Prosecuting Attorney since 2007.

Brian graduated from Purdue University in 1983 with a degree in Business Marketing and received his Juris Doctor degree from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1987. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Law at Valparaiso University teaching Trial Advocacy. He also supervises law students in the Prosecutor’s Externship program and coaches the Valparaiso High School Mock Trial Team. He lives in Union Township with his wife, Carleen and two sons Daniel and Nathaniel. Carleen is the current Children’s Ministry Director at Calvary. His sons are the pride and joy of his life and both are exceptional students and talented musicians. 

Along with having a passion for playing golf (and trying to best his long-time golf compadre, Pastor Lionel), Brian builds golf clubs, owns a ping-pong robot and is known to his Calvary friends as “gadget Gensel”.
