spring 2012 adult electives schedule

offered on Sundays at 9a

3.4 – 3.25 mission possible

How might God use me locally or globally in a short term ministry project?  What is recommended & required preparation? What if I can't use a stethoscope or a nail gun?  How can families or couples become involved? "Mission Possible" is a NEW 4-week module for anyone investigating, going on, or leading a short term mission project in partnership with Calvary in 2012-13 (domestically or internationally).  The class will cover "best practices" and requirements for spiritual & physical preparation; team life, cultural preparation, finances & faith, debriefing, etc.   Time will be provided for Q & A.

Bill McClure & Pastor Mark Lackey, Banquet Room (3.4 – 3.11) & Rm 300 (3.18 – 3.25)

4.15 – 4.29 salt & light: giving our lifestyle to Christ while living in current culture

In His Sermon on the Mount Jesus tells us we are "salt and light" in this world (Matt. 5:13-16).  What does it look like to give all of your lifestyle up to this high calling?  Does it change the things for which you are willing to spend money?  Does it influence how you should vote?  Does it impact your entertainment choices?  Come join us as we wrestle with how to properly represent Christ in a world that does not know Him.

Elder Peter Khosla, Rm 300

5.6 – 6.3 peace: conflict resolution, forgiveness and other keys to healthy relationships

Relationships.  We all have them. They make us laugh. They make us cry.  They fill our souls.  They break our hearts.  All of us have been blessed and burdened by relationships.  If you long for healthier relationships in your life then you need to join us as we unpack what the Scriptures teach on critical topics such as repentance, forgiveness, confrontation, justice and more.

Pastor Cary Nack, Rm 300
